Exit door sticking, not latching, or failing to open with a push? Mobile Locksmith Miami repairs, replaces and installs panic bars and exit devices on commercial doors throughout Miami-Dade, so people can get out quickly and the door still secures when it closes.

What a Panic Bar Is
A panic bar, also called a push bar, crash bar or exit device, is the horizontal bar across the inside of an exit door. Pushing it retracts the latch, so the door opens from the inside in one motion, without a key and without any special knowledge. From the outside the door stays locked.
Panic Bar Repair
Exit devices are used hard and usually give warning before they fail. We repair:
- Bars that stick, sag or do not spring back
- Latches that do not retract fully, or do not catch when the door closes
- Doors that can be pulled open from outside because the latch is not seating
- Dogging mechanisms that will not hold the bar down or release it
- Loose or broken end caps, mounting hardware and outside trim
- Alarmed exit devices that sound falsely or not at all
New Installation and Replacement
We install exit devices on metal, wood and aluminum storefront doors, including single doors and pairs. The right type depends on the door:
- Rim devices latch at the door edge and suit most single doors
- Vertical rod devices latch at the top and bottom, common on double doors
- Mortise devices use a lock body set inside the door
- Alarmed devices sound when the door is opened, for exits that should stay closed
Code and Inspection Considerations
Building and fire codes require panic hardware on certain exit doors, depending on how the building is used and how many people it holds. Requirements vary by property, so the fire marshal or your local building department has the final word. We can install hardware listed for the purpose, including fire-rated exit devices for fire doors, and fix problems noted on an inspection report.
Outside Access
Exit devices can be paired with outside trim, such as a keyed cylinder, lever or pull, so staff can enter while the public cannot. The cylinder can be keyed into your master key system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a panic bar be repaired, or does it have to be replaced?
Many faults can be repaired, such as worn latches, springs and loose hardware. Replacement makes sense when the device is badly worn or parts are no longer available.
Can you add a panic bar to an existing door?
Usually, yes. Most commercial doors can be fitted with an exit device, though the type depends on the door material and whether it is a single door or a pair.
Does my business need panic bars?
It depends on the occupancy type and capacity of the building. Your local building department or fire marshal can confirm what is required for your property.
My exit door will not lock at closing time. Can you come today?
Yes. A commercial door that will not secure is treated as urgent, and service is available 24/7.
