Home / Commercial Locksmith Miami / Storefront Lock Repair Miami
Front door will not lock at closing, or the key fights you every morning? Mobile Locksmith Miami repairs storefront locks on aluminum and glass entry doors throughout Miami, FL and Miami-Dade County. We work on the narrow-stile hardware most storefronts use, fix what can be fixed, and replace only the parts that need it.

Storefront Hardware We Work On
- Mortise key cylinders and their cams
- Deadlatches that latch automatically when the door closes
- Hook bolts and swing-bolt deadlocks
- Storefront deadbolts and thumbturns
- Adams Rite-style narrow-stile locks and similar hardware
- Flush bolts on the inactive leaf of double doors
Common Storefront Lock Problems
- The key is hard to turn or will not turn at all
- The hook bolt does not throw fully or misses the strike
- The door only locks when you push or pull on it
- A loose or spinning cylinder
- A lock broken in an attempted break-in
- Hardware worn out by heavy daily traffic
Why Storefront Locks Fall Out of Line
Storefront doors open and close hundreds of times a day. Heat, humidity and salt air add to the wear on hinges, pivots and closers. Once the door sags even slightly, the bolt no longer meets the strike cleanly. Often the fix is adjusting the strike or replacing a worn part rather than the whole lock. If a closer or pivot is the real cause, we will tell you.
Repair or Replace?
We repair when the lock body is sound: a new cylinder, cam, spring or strike adjustment is often enough. We replace when the body is cracked, parts are unavailable, or the lock was damaged in a forced entry. If keys are also a concern, commercial lock rekeying can be done on the same visit, and high security cylinders are an option for better key control.
Retail, Restaurants and Shopping Centers
We repair storefront locks for retail stores, restaurants, ground-floor offices, shopping centers and other commercial properties. Many storefronts also have a rear exit door; if its push bar is sticking or not latching, see panic bar repair and installation. Property managers can have several units in one plaza checked in a single visit.
Areas We Serve
We repair storefront locks throughout Miami and Miami-Dade County, from street-level shops in Downtown Miami and Coconut Grove to retail centers in Kendall and Aventura. The technician brings the tools and common parts to your storefront.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a storefront lock be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Many problems come from a worn cylinder, cam or strike, which can be fixed without replacing the whole lock.
What is a hook bolt?
A hook-shaped bolt used on narrow aluminum storefront doors. It swings into the strike and hooks in place, which makes the door harder to pry open.
Why does my storefront door only lock when I push on it?
The bolt and strike are out of line, usually because the door has sagged or the strike has shifted. Adjusting the alignment often solves it.
Can you change just the key cylinder?
Yes. Mortise cylinders can be replaced or rekeyed on their own, as long as the lock body is in good condition.
Can you fix a storefront lock after a break-in?
Yes. We secure the door first, then repair or replace the damaged hardware.
